HAILAKANDI: COVID-19 active cases have surpassed the 100 marks, causing the Hailakandi district administration to order the immediate closure of classes up to VIII.
In a statement issued here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the DDMA, Megh Nidhi Dahal, said the administration has recommended the closure of classes up to VIII in both government and non-government educational institutions in the wake of active cases surpassing the 100-case mark in the district and to prevent the pandemic from spreading further, especially among college children.

It requested that school administrators make online classes accessible to the concerned students.
The order shall remain in force up to May 8.
The district currently has 113 active cases.
