Senior advocate Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew has been appointed a judge of the Meghalaya High Court as notified by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Department of Justice) on Saturday.
His name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 25.
On the other hand, the central government has appointed two more senior advocates as the Additional Judges in the Gauhati High Court.
The newly appointed judges are Sanjay Kumar Medhi and Nani Tagia.They have been appointed for a period of two years from the date on which they assume office.
