Hang Dr Rahul Basumatary’s murderer; demands ABSU

The Udalguri unit of All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) on Sunday staged demonstrations demanding high-level investigation into the gruesome murder of Dr. Rahul Basumatary that took place in Jorhat on Saturday. The agitators, who also staged a sit-in demanded that the culprit be hanged through a fast-track court trial.

It may be mentioned that one person has been arrested in Jorhat in connection with the suspicious death. A daily wage painter named Diganta Tati was apprehended from Jorhat’s Chinnamara. Basumatary’s smartphone was recovered from Tati.

It needs mention that Basumatary was killed gruesomely on Friday night. He was a junior doctor working at Dr. J.K.Saikia Homeopathy Medical College, Jorhat. He was found dead at his rented home in Chandan Nagar of Jorhat.
