On the 72nd Independence Day on Wednesday, a truant headmaster in southern Assam’s Barak Valley was prevented from entering a school and hoisting the Tri-colour.
The students and the locals of Boalmara Lower Primary School in Cachar alleged that the headmaster, K Deb, often refrained from coming to school. They were miffed that on an important day like Independence Day, he showed up only at 10:30 am when the flag was to be hoisted early in the morning. As he came very late, he was not allowed to enter the school. Later, the locals and the students took the lead in hoisting the Tri-colour.
