Assam Police, in a drive against drugs, apprehended five drug peddlers in Dibrugarh and recovered suspected heroin from their possession.

A team of Dibrugarh Police department, led by TSI Monuranjan Saikia and WSI Mousumi Phukon, apprehended the five individuals from Boiragimoth area. The five have been identified as Lakhya Kanuwar, Kartik Phukon, Debasis Bordoloi, Raj Varma and Md Udit Ali.
Around 85 gram drugs suspected to be heroin have been recovered. Additionally, a vehicle, Verna car and cash worth Rs 5,100 have also been seized.

According to police, action is being taken against them as per the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS.
Dibrugarh Police will forward the five drug peddlers to judicial custody tomorrow.
