Heroin worth over Rs 4.5 Cr seized from Jorabat; 2 held

GUWAHATI: In another successful operation, Assam Police seized a huge consignment of drugs from the Jorabat area of Guwahati city of Assam apprehending two persons in connection with the drug peddling case today.

Police seized 660 gms Heroin worth over Rs 4.5 cr in the international market.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter and lauded the police for the large drug haul.

To make the state of Assam drugs-free, the Assam government earlier last month burnt seized drugs worth Rs 170 crore in different public functions in four districts.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state government has taken a zero-tolerance policy toward the illegal drug trade.
