GAURIPUR: Two high-tech goat thieves were arrested in Assam's Dhubri district, rescuing a herd of goats.
The Gauripur police arrested the two thieves while they were transporting stolen goats on their vehicle at Beparipatty near Gauripur police station on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off Gauripur police conducted a naka checking at Beparipatty, Gauripur and intercepted one luxury vehicle (Swift Desire) vide Reg. No. AS 17 G 0200, where the police officials have rescued a total of five numbers of goat which was concealed in the dicky of the said vehicle.

The arrested persons have been identified as--Sirajul Hoque of Khudimari, from Gauripur, and Pankaj Kumar Barman from Naliya Part II, Golakganj.
Police officials said it was not the first time the duo were stealing goats, as per information both the duo were involved in such incidents for a long time.
Both Sirajul and Pankaj have been remanded and a case has been registered against both the accused persons, said Gauripur Police OC, Himakshi Nath.
