The much-debated minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma has come into the spot again for making derogatory statements after facing the wrath of people who have shown him Black Flag.

In his statement, Sarma repeatedly commented “In the land of Satra, only the people of the Satra will show the black flag, Firdoos and Akhtar were brought to show the flag which is a surprising syndicate going on. Where from this people came? Do they belong to this region? Today I went to Kurma Madhav Devalaya, Kurma means another avatar of Lord Vishnu, in that place. Will Firdoos and Akhtar show black flags in that place?”

Reacting to this, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader Dhaiyjya Konwar alleged that Himanta Biswa Sarma is trying to polarize the issue. He said, “Himanta Biswa Sarma has made communal remarks. They have been targeted only for being Muslim. He is trying to create a rift between Hindus and Muslims based on religion. They have the right to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. They might be Muslims but they are not foreigners. Using the name of Satra for such political remarks is not acceptable.”

It may be mention that after the announcement of amending the proposed controversial Citizenship Bill been made PM Narendra Modi, the entire state is undergoing an unrest situation. The Bill has been passed to the Rajya Sabha and is likely to be tabled in the next session that is scheduled to begin on January 31.
