Assam Health & Family Welfare, Finance and Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma slammed All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) supremo Maulana Badruddin Ajmal for using the Arabic language at a public meeting.
Sarma lamented that not a single intellectual protested against Ajmal for using Arabic in the meeting.
Sarma said that some people have surrendered to the Arabic language. He added that they don’t like using Assamese, Bodo or Bengali.

Sarma also stated that though many people raise their voice when there is a mismatch in textbook distribution on the basis of mediums, they have remained silent in the case of Ajmal.
It may be mentioned that Arabic was used in a poster of a meeting in Goalpara which was addressed by Maulana Badruddin Ajmal.
