Former Congress minister Rockybul Hussain accused Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of hatching conspiracies with AIUDF Chief Badaruddin Ajmal to oust the then Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Addressing the media, Rockybul Hussain said, “During the days when former CM Tarun Gogoi was hospitalized in Mumbai, Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Badaruddin Ajmal hatched conspiracies against him in order to become the next CM of Assam.”

Hussain added, “Himanta had secret meetings with Ajmal during that time. He now speaks against Jania and trying to divide the people, but during that time Jania constituency was more important for him.”
The Congress leader also accused Sarma that to fulfill his desire to become the next CM, Himanta had also attended programs in Hailakandi.
On the other hand, APCC president Ripun Bora slammed that BJP government for forcefully implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act without waiting for the Supreme Court to hear the petitions filed against it.

He announced that the Congress do not fear the police assault on them and will continue their fight against CAA.
