TINSUKIA: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reached the site of yesterday's grenade blast in Digboi's Tingrai Market to take stock of the incident today.
After inspecting the site, CM Sarma, who holds the portfolio of state home affairs, had instructed the Assam Police to "ensure expeditious investigations and arrest of perpetrators."
Sarma afterward visited the family of Surajit Talukdar, who had lost life in the blast, and granted an one time aide of Rs. 5 lakh to his kins.

This was the second grenade blast in the district of Tinsukia in a week.
On May 11, another grenade blast took place Jagun area of Tinsukia, which killed a 12-year-old.
ULFA (I) had denied their involvement from any of these blasts yesterday and had announced three months of one sided ceasefire from today.
