NAGAON: Assam cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today took a further jibe at state Congress president Ripun Bora saying the latter should have seen the support the BJP enjoys in Nagaon.
Peddling a bicycle for 25 km from Nehrubali to Deodhar Gaon Panchayat here followed by a sea of supports, the North east Democratic Alliance convenor told mediapersons who asked him about Bora’s comment on him: “Ripun Bora should have seem me this way here today.”
In reply to Sarma’s earlier jibe that “Congress tsunami” can take place only in Bangladesh, Bora yesterday said Sarma these days dreams only about Bangladesh. “It seems he is possessed by a Bangladeshi ghost. He needs some spiritual healing.”
Amid his bicycle rally, Sarma today said, “So Ripun Bora also believes in (AIUDF chief Badruddin) Ajmal’s spiritual healings. He has become a copy cat of Ajmal.” Bora, however, clarified before the media that he meant the spiritual healings believed in Hindu mythology.

Participating in the rally, Sarma said: “It feels really great to see that the BJP has such a huge support in this historic district of Nagaon. I am overwhelmed.”
He also walked some distance in the town.
“GRATITUDE! I am so full of energy after such graceful expression of joy and affection by you all during my 25-km #cyclerally at Nagaon. I feel at the top of world. Thank you, as you continue to support @BJP4India , which is committed for a vibrant & stronger Assam,” he tweeted.
Asked about his agenda behind holding bicycle rallies, Sarma said: “This is the way I want to go closer to the people. I have set myself a target to meet 1 crore people over the next one month.”
