Jitul Raz Sonowal, a youth belonging to the Sonowal-Kachari tribe, has written an open letter to his tribesman, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, and urged him to uphold the jati, mati, and bheti of Assam. The writer of the note has also informed the CM that the people of the State do not want want Hindu Bangladeshis, and urged the CM to take a 'stand' against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
In an open letter that the youth has written to the CM in the native tongue of the Sonowal people, the youth says that the Sonowal, who belongs to a peace-loving tribe, has made the entire community proud by ascending to the post of CM. "We were happy because we thought you would solve the problem of all the communities", says the youth.

Commending the CM for his role in scrapping of the IMDT Act, seen as a protection for the "illegal foreigners", the youth states that the CM is expected to assay a similar role amid renewed protests in Assam against the amendment of the Citizenship Law.
"People of Assam gave you the title of jatiya nayak, and you know better than anyone else that Assam never gets anything without agitations" the youth states, adding that Sonowal's elevation to the rank of Chief Minister has brought hope to the people, hope that Assam would not have to resort to revolts and agitations to secure the rights of the people.
But, the opposite has come true, the youth states, adding that Sonowal has been seen going back on his promise to deliver the jati, mati and bheti.
"Jati Mati Bheti is a big deal. Many countries have built atom bombs to save their jati mati bjheti. The people of Assam regarded you as their atom bomb to save the people", the Sonowal-Kachari youth said, adding that the Chief Minister was elected to serve his purpose to salvage the people.

The youth further adds that people across the state of Assam are suffering en masse, and thus, they do not want Bangladeshi-Hindus in the State. What they want instead, he says, is the repealing of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
"Take some decisions of your own -- do not be afraid", the Sonowal-Kachari youth says, adding that people of Assam are still looking upto the CM to save Assam from the perceived threat posed by the CAA.
Sonowal has also been urged by his tribesman to find a place in the hearts of the people, where the "actual history" of the nation will be written.
