House gutted in Guwahati fire

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 23, 2018:

A blazing inferno razed an old house at the residence of one Saurabh Sengupta near Meghdoot Cinema in Paltanbazar area of the city late Thursday night.

No one was hurt in the incident. Electric short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire.

Seven fire tenders were pressed into service by the Fire & Emergency Service (F&ES) Department to control the blaze.

Explosion of two LPG cylinders kept at the house during the fire sparked panic, though the fire was controlled by the efforts of the F&ES personnel.
