The Assam Higher School leaving certificate (HSLC) examination that started on Thursday, 14th February has been mired in controversy after the English question paper went viral on social media minutes after the exam commenced. The incident reportedly took place in the Nagaon district’s Jajori centre, where the paper was leaked using a mobile phone, which have been banned during examinations.
According to reports, Nagaon district has the highest number of candidates (26,080) appearing for AHSEC this year, whereas Dima Hasao district has the lowest number of candidates (2751). Altogether, a total of 3, 52,143 candidates appeared for the examinations this year.
The HSLC examinations will continue till the 6th of March. As per reports, a total of 857 centres have been registered for the examinations this year.
