Huge Cache of Ammunition and Explosives Recovered in Assam’s Chirang

Chirang, October 17, 2019:

A huge cache of ammunition and a large number of explosives were unearthed by the troops of the Chirang Army unit of Red Horns Division along with Chirang Police.

The cache is believed to be belonging to the dreaded militant group National Democratic Front of Bodoland- Saraigwra (NDFB- S).

Based on specific input of the presence of the huge amount of ammunition and explosives, a search operation was launched by the troop along the Sukanteklai River near the international border.

After toiling search which involved deep search metal detector located a suspected spot. On digging, a hidden cache of ammunition and explosives was found. The cache included large amount of ammunition, detonators, and grenades.

It may be mentioned here that, last month, a huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was found in Panbari Reserve Forest.
