Assam Rifles battalions seized huge cache of contraband items and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMPF) worth more than Rs. 21 lakhs in different operations conducted between July 13 and Jul 17, 2019, in the Northeastern states of Manipur, Nagaland Mizoram, and Tripura.
On July 13, 2019 based on specific input, regarding smuggling of drugs and contrabands, a team of Assam Rifles and Moreh Police seized 3360 tablet of WIY (World is Yours) tablets worth more than Rs. 10 lakh from a Myanmarese national identified as Wonna, aged 44, near H Lhangcham village near Moreh.

On July 15, 2019, a spot check of vehicles by AR team led to the recovery of 1,397 bottles of IMFL from Tuli village in Mokokchung district. In the intervening period, large quantity of contraband items including heroin and marijuana were also recovered by AR units in Mizoram and Tripura.
All apprehended persons and recovered cache of drugs and contraband items have been handed over to the State Excise Department and police for further investigations.
