Guwahati, May 23, 2019:

The troops of Border Security Force (BSF) of Guwahati Frontier on Wednesday apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle, from the Indo-Bangla border area of Kaimari in Coochbihar (WB).

Acting on a tip-off on Wednesday, a special ambush of BSF troops apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with a cattle head from the area of responsibility of Border Out Post (BOP) Kaimari, while he was trying to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh.

The apprehended cattle smuggler has been identified as Najmal Mia (28). He has been handed over to Sitai police for further legal action.

Besides, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized 39 cattle heads having an approximate value of Rs.3,35,511 on the intervening night of 22nd /23rd May 2019. The troops apprehended the miscreants due to their alertness towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavors to contain such trans-border crimes from the border.
