INSIDENE IMPACT: OPPOSITION DEMANDS GOVERNMENT TO MAKE FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS RELATING TO ‘AWESOME ASSAM’ ADVERTISEMENT CAMPAIGN PUBLIC

In a latest development, the leader of the opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, Debabrata Saikia has demanded the state government to immediately make public, details of financial transactions relating to the ‘Awesome Assam’ advertisement campaign. The fact came to light that the advertisement agency is scam-tainted after InsideNe published an article on Friday 'SCAMSTER’S FIRM WAS AWARDED ‘AWESOME ASSAM’ AD CAMPAIGN', which had exposed the bitter truth. It was only after publishing this article that the opposition called for a press conference and came up with its demand.

Saikia said that the proprietor of the ‘Yaap and Crayons Advertisement Agency’, Ajay Chopra, was arrested last year on the charge of perpetrating a multi-crore-rupee advertising scam in Rajasthan and is fighting five court cases in this connection. Not only has the government engaged a tainted firm for its advertisement campaign, but is now refusing to share information in the House regarding payments made to the firm on the plea of “terms & conditions” of the contract.
