The death toll of deadly vector-borne disease Japanese Encephalitis has risen to 76 in Assam.
As on July 14, 2019, a total of 26 cases of AES/JE was registered out of which five deaths have been recorded. Also, five cases of Japanese Encephalitis were reported out of which two have been reported dead.
Moreover, as many as 1350 cases of AES/JE cases were registered out of which 177 deaths have been reported.
On the other hand, 348 cases of Japanese Encephalitis were reported out of which 76 have been reported dead
It is to be noted that today, two deaths have been reported, one from Darrang district and the other from Nalbari district.
It may be mentioned that the treatment and diagnostic cost at Medical Colleges and District Hospitals are being borne by the State.
A certain number of beds in all the ICU and wards have been reserved for patients with JE/AES in all district hospitals and Medical Colleges.
