Noted economist and novelist Jayanta Madhab passed away late last night after a prolonged illness in Guwahati.
One of the most reputed economist in the country of his time passed away at the age of 91.
Alumni of London School of Economics retired as the Director of Asian Development Bank, Manilla.
He was appointed as the first chairman of NEDFi and developed a strong fundamental for the institute.
Jayanta Madhab, also served as an advisor to the chief minister of Assam from 2003 to early 2009.
