Guwahati: Additional Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua is all set to become the next Chief Secretary of Assam. Barua is likely to take over as the Chief Secretary from tomorrow.

Barua, an IAS Officer, is currently in charge of Home & Political, Revenue & DM secretariat administration (archives) and Border Protection & Development, and Implementation of Assam Accord departments.

Barua is likely to take charge from the outgoing chief secretary, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, who will retire on October 31, 2020.

Kumar Sanjay Krishna, a 1985 batch IAS officer, took over as the Chief Secretary in December of 2019.
