A Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) cadre, who had been incarcerated at the Damdam Central Jail in West Bengal, visited his home at Chatla in Sarthebari of Assam's Barpeta district on Saturday.
The JMB cadre, Shahanur Alam visited his home on a single-day bail. It is known that Shahanur’s father passed away two months back, following which he had appealed for bail.
He travelled by the Kamrup Express along with Kolkata Police and reached his home today. He was presented at the Mazdiya Police Station in Assam's Barpeta.
It may be mentioned that Shahanur was pronounced 8 years of jail in relation to a bombing case in Kolkata’s Khagragarh. He was arrested just after the bomb blast in 2014. He has already served 5 years of his term.
