JORHAT BJP POST AGAINST ARTISTS LEADS UPROAR IN ASSAM

A huge controversy has ensued in Assam after a Facebook post went viral which was uploaded by the Jorhat BJP Unit. The post contained a photo of renowned Assamese artists, criticizing them for opposing  the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

It is to  be noted that the photo was taken during the JPC public hearing at Administrative Staff College in Guwahati where the particular artists from Assam had turned up to submit their memorandum against the Bill.

The facebook post allegedly claims that the children of these artists do not go to Assamese schools rather it also says that the news related to their Character of the particular artist will expose the Assamese society’s real character’. While the facebook post against Singer Manas Robin, Film Producer- Director Bani Das, Actress Prastuti Parashar and Actress Madhurima Choudhury has created sensations wide apart and more criticism in the state.

While INSIDENE speaking to Actress Prastuti Parashar she  said that the constituency has given full rights to every citizen to speak out. While she also said that they are cultural artists and no political party should try to  maline them for their own political vested interests.
