GUWAHATI: BJP Chief Jagat Prakash Nadda has released the BJP manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in Assam today.

Addressing scribes at a city hotel today, the BJP president said that thanks to the party's efforts, developmental works have gained momentum, and the state is now "committed for a long leap ahead."

Nadda also said that there will be a correction of the current NRC. "We will be uppholding Assam’s right through corrected NRC and detect and avict the foreigners," Nadda added.

The BJP leader also said that the manifesto assures to protect Assam's "political rights."

Assam will become the "fastest job creator state in the country," Nadda further asserted, adding that 2 lakh government jobs will be generated within a year (till March 30, 2022). Nadda also said that 8 lakh private sector jobs will also be generated in Assam.

Entrepreneurs in the state will be supported by the Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Employment Yojana, Nadda said, adding that 10 lakh youths will be "established as entrepreneurs" by the government

"All citizens will be empowered by granting them land rights and we promise that we will take this forward," he said.

After unveiling the BJP manifesto in Guwahati, he will also hold a road show in West Bengal at 3 pm.

The BJP Chief has been on a two-day visit to the states of Assam and West Bengal since Monday. On Sunday, BJP released its manifesto for West Bengal polls.

"Our NDA government under the chief ministership Sarbananda Sonowal has attempted to solve the age-old issues of Assam. In a way, our attempts have been tireless under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi and supported by him and also supported by Home Minister Amit Shah and implemented by Sarbananda Sonowal, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Ranjeet Dass at the grassroots level," Nadda said.

"This manifesto will add new dimensions to the developmental works being carried out by the Assam BJP-led NDA government in the last five years under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A manifesto is not a mere document for us, it is our 'Sankalp Patra'," a statement released by BJP said.
The party has promised to provide 33 percent reservation for women in all state government jobs if voted to power.
While releasing the West Bengal manifesto, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the CAA will be implemented in the first Cabinet. The party also promised free KG to PG education for all women and free travel for them in public transport.
