The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) will sit again on the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 on December 31 just ahead of the government term expires in 2019.
Reportedly, members had objected to sit on Monday.
Earlier, the JPC had a meeting on November 27 of this year regarding the Bill.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 seeks to legitimize the stay of non-Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan who had migrated to India till December 31, 2014.
