Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s (KAAC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang laid the foundation stone of a library at the residence of former Asom Sabhitya Sabha (ASS) President Rongbong Terang, in Diphu.
Ronghang said, “We are setting up the library to honor the eminent writer. He has contributed immensely to the literature of Assam and therefore, we have come up with this library with the support of the fifth Finance Commission.”

He added that all the books written by Rongbong Terang will be kept in the library as a record. “The books should not get lost with time. Instead, we should archive the work and pass it on for future generations...,” said Ronghang.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the KAAC, Rongbong Terang said, “I thank the KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang for helping me achieve the dream of setting up a library for the people of Karbi Anglong. I hope this library becomes the hub of books and readers in the days to come.”

KAAC CEM Ronghang has urged the youth of Karbi Anglong to visit the library and read the work of the former Asom Sabhitya Sabha (ASS) President Rongbong Terang. He is hopeful that the library would further aid in developing the quality of readership among the people of Diphu.
The library will be open to the public from March, 2020. The Foundation laying ceremony was attended by KAAC EM Amarsing Tisso, EM Rupsing Teron, Chairman Forest Board and MAC, Richard Tokbi, and ex MLA, Ramsing Timung, Bidya Sing Engleng.
