The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) celebrated its 68th foundation day on June 23 at the new sports complex, Donkamokam.
During the celebration, Assam Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has inaugurated the Sport Complex in the premises of Waisong Stadium in the presence of KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang, MP Horensing Bey, Urban Development Minister Pijush Hazarika, among others.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, along with his colleagues, attended the celebrations. The Best Employee Award 2019 was awarded to Ambika Rongpi, SA, KAAC as a token warded by the Chief Guest Dr. Sarma. A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Mrs Pokhila Engtipi for her outstanding contribution in the field of Walking Race (5000m at 1st Asia Master Games 2018 in Malaysia).
A Certificate of Appreciation was also awarded to Mrs Kache Teronpi for her outstanding performance in the field of Badminton at National Master Games 2019 in Dehradun.
A Certificate of Appreciation was also awarded to Hongbari Timungpi for her outstanding performance in the field of Wushu Martial arts at 64th National School, 2018-19, Ranchi.
The Khorsing Terang Award 2019 went to Chandra Kant Terang for her outstanding performance in the field of Folk Music & Folk Culture.
The Semson Sing Engti Award 2019 was awarded to the Late Jitimai Beypi for her outstanding performance in the field of Entrepreneurship and Social Work.
The Sarsing Teron (Langkung Habe) Award 2019 went to Kathar Engti, Habe Kong for his outstanding performance in the field of Socio-Cultural and Customary Works.
Rs 5,00,000/- was awarded to each to them. Moreover, 30 martyrs family members were given away Rupees Five lakh through cheque.
Karbi Anglong district is one of the 33 administrative districts of Assam state in India. The district is bounded by Golaghat district on the east, Morigaon district on the west, Nagaon and Golaghat districts on the north and Dima Hasao district and Nagaland state on the south.
The district is located between 25º 33′ and 26º 35′ North latitude and from 92º 10′ to 93º 50′ East longitude. Diphu is the administrative headquarter of the district. Language :Karbi, Assamese, Hindi and English.
