Guwahati, January 12, 2020:

Puja Basumatary from Assam bagged gold in 57 kg Judo in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games 2020 on Sunday. She hails from Karbi Anglong district.

Puja Basumatary stands as the first from Assam to bag a gold medal in the Khelo India Youth Games.

Defeating her opponent Uttarakhand, Puja won by 1-0 in the final held at the SAI Centre in Paltan Bazar, Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Judo player, Dharitri Sonowal bagged silver in Girl’s U- 17, 63 kg.

Pinkhi Brahma bagged bronze in the Javelin throw (G-21).

On the other hand, Upasa Talukdar bagged one silver and two bronze in gymnastics.
