The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA), Hill State Demand Committee (HSDC) and United Karbi Youth Assembly (UKYA) have opposed the granting of Scheduled Tribe-Hills (ST-H) status to the Bodos living in Karbi Anglong.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, KSA president Semion Rongphar said the organisations were not against the community but fighting for their rights. As such, they opposed the granting of ST-H status to the Bodos living in Karbi Anglong, he said. The organisations asked the government not to provide ST-H status to the Bodos.
