KARBI STUDENTS ASSOCIATION OPPOSES GUWAHATI PUJA PANDAL CONCEPT OF ENACTING KANGTHILANGSO WATERFALL AS ABHI-NEEL

Diphu, October 8, 2018:

The Karbi Students Association (KSA) Diphu chapter opposes the concept of showcasing the beauty of Kangthilangso waterfall as Abhi-Neel waterfall. The KSA addressing a press conference at District press club office Diphu on Monday said that they are not at all satisfied of the concept of the Durga puja committee in Guwahati.

Sikari Rongpha, spokesperson of KSA said that the puja Committee of Guwahati Lakhi Mandir, Beltola are going to showcase the scenic beauty of Kangthilangso waterfall, which they suppose to change the name into Abhi-Neel, therefore the KSA strongly recommend the Puja committee of Lakhi  Mandir to change their concept. The KSA also suggested and reminded all the sections of the society not to repeat the issue anymore in the future which could create chaos and confusion among the community.

It may be mentioned that two youth, Abhijit Nath and Nilotpal Das from Guwahati were lynched by a mob at Panjuri Kachari village in Karbi Anglong which shook the entire state. The unfortunate incident took place on 8th of June this year.
