Karimganj: Karimganj reported 62 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the district to 5,856.
54 of the 62 active cases were found to be positive by Rapid Antigen Test and eight by RT-PCR.
The district had 710 active COVID-19 cases, with 48 patients being released from hospital and home isolation.

1,227 swab samples were obtained.
So far, a total of 2,49,134 samples have been examined. 21 people with high-risk connections were tracked down and checked.
On Sunday, five containment zones were established in Karimganj city.
Meanwhile, Anbamuthan MP, the District Magistrate took the initiative to transfer the vaccine centre from the Government hospital to the District Sports Office.
"The district authorities' actions would help to mitigate the general issues that arise with vaccinations," an official said.
