Kaziranga National Park to be Developed as a 'World-Class Tourism Destination'

Guwahati, July 9, 2019:
Assam’s Kaziranga National Park (KNP) has been selected to be developed as a 'world-class' tourism destination among seventeen tourist spots in the entire country!
As per reports, Kaziranga National Park is the only spot chosen from Northeast India among 17 model sites to be developed as a 'world-class tourism destination'.
Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman announced that 17 iconic tourism sites would be developed into world-class tourism destinations in order to attract domestic and international tourists, as part of the Government's new initiative.

Rs 1,378.53 crore has been allocated for the development of tourism infrastructure in the country.
