Guwahati, October 13, 2018:

Assam’s Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurated the tourist entry for Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on Friday.

On the occasion, Wildlife Trust of India gave an ex-gratia support of Rs 1 Lakh to Bijit Newar, son of late Ganesh Bahadur Newar, a staff of KNP, who died due to an accidental encounter with a wild elephant herd on duty in the park on August 6, 2018.

Along with the forest minister, other people such as- Assam cabinet ministers Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, along with other MLAs, AD Baruah, Director of Kaziranga National Park, Dr Rathin Barman Joint Director WTI along with Amitabha Choudhury was also present at the function.
