Golaghat, July 19, 2019:

Finally some great news for the animal lovers of the state, nay, the whole world! The majestic Royal Bengal tiger which had made its way to human-inhabited areas to escape the dreaded floods in the Kaziranga National Park (which has been mostly submerged underwater), was provided safe passage to the forests.

This was informed by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal via social media platform Twitter. Sonowal hailed the efforts of the officials of the Forest Department as well as the Wildlife Trust of India, who were the first to bring attention to the plight of the flood-affected feline.

The Assam Chief Minister wrote: "Wonderful job by forest dept,

" data-mentioned-user-id="51136224">@wti_org_india and others. The Royal Bengal Tiger, which took shelter in human habitation near the Kaziranga National Park due to floods, was provided safe passage to the forests."

The Wildlife Trust of India had announced via Twitter that a team was in place at Kaziranga to provide the tiger with safe passage to the wild.

Earlier, netizens were left wonderstruck after an image started doing the round on social media which shows a Kaziranga tiger was captured on camera while resting on a bed in a house in Assam. As it turned out, the animal had made its way into a scrap-metal selling shop near the National Park to escape the floods.
