Bedlam ensued in the 'Khelo India' games after Boxing Coach Geeta Chanu, miffed at her ward Priyanka Bora being 'denied' medal, stormed the stage, much to the amusement of the spectators.
The athlete who hails from Assam, as well as her coach, have expressed their shock and dismay at the outcome of the bout that was being held against Tamil Nadu.

The athlete, who competed in the 48-kilos category, broke down and claimed "injustice". Now, murmurs have started that the Assam athletes are not being given their due recognition at the games that are being held in Guwahati for the first time.
“There was a match between Assam’s Priyanka Bora and Tamil Nadu’s Boxer. She had performed really well. Despite her performance, the Tamil Nadu Boxer was declared as the winner instead of Priyanka. Later, her coach and other players joined Priyanka in the Boxing ring and expressed dissatisfaction over the unfair judgment,” said one of the spectators.

The spectator added that there had been many instances when Assam players were deprived of their due recognition even after displaying exemplary performance. “Assam Boxing Chief Coach Amar Deka has also alleged that there has been unfair judgment towards the Assam players. Priyanka Bora should have won in this case but the Tamil Nadu boxer, instead, was declared as the winner,” said the spectator.
It may be mentioned here that the closing ceremony of the third edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2020 will be held at the Sarusajai Sports Complex on January 22.
