KLO militant apprehended with arms in Assam's Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Jawans of the Kokrajhar Battalion and Assam Police jointly apprehended a cadre of the Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) based on specific input.

"On 14 January 2020 at around 3 pm a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Battalion(Army Camp Kachugaon) and Assam Police from Kachugaon PS under ASP Siddharth Nahar,IPS to nab a cadre of Kamtapur Liberation Organisation based on specific intelligence input," said an official, adding that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the suspected militant.

The suspect named Pradip Roy alias Changma of Ankorbari village under Police Station Dhaligaon was apprehended by the joint team at 6 pm near the paddy fields next to Kalipukhuri in Salakati area.

The suspect is in custody of Kokrajhar Police Station further investigation.
