The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) along with 70 ethnic organisations have demanded the government to compensate Gyanendra Rajkhowa's family with Rs 20 lakh and a government job to his wife.
Speaking to the media, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi said that the authorities should take appropriate actions against the officer responsible for the whole incident.
It may be mentioned that Gyanendra Rajkhowa, a former BSF jawan was shot by the police for allegedly threatening voters with a dao at a polling station and also trying to attack the police in Golaghat’s Habichuk.
Gyanendra Rajkhowa came to the polling station with a dao and started to threaten the voters over reasons best known to him.
Although he was immediately taken to the hospital, after a few hours of him being treated, Gyanendra succumbed to his injuries.
