Kokrajhar mother hacks her children to death, commits suicide

Kokrajhar, April 28, 2019:

Is it possible for a mother to kill her own children? In an incredibly shocking incident which took place on Saturday in Kokrajhar, a mother ended the lives of her children before immolating herself in flames.

The sensational incident occurred in Besimari under Fakiragram Police Station in Kokrajhar district. The lady in question is Dinbandhu Das's wife Sujala Das (28). It has been reported that she hacked her two children Rimpa Das (9) and Diganta Das (2) to death in the absence of her husband and then proceeded to commit suicide by dousing herself with kerosene and setting herself on fire.

It may be mentioned that the family had been in a state of gloom for quite a while as both the children were born divyangs (person with disability) and as such, the parents were frustrated. The children's father, Dinbandhu Das, a painter by profession, even took his children to the Guwahati Medical College & Hospital for treatment, but to no avail.

All were left shocked and panic and chaos reigned in the area when it was discovered that Sujala had hacked her two children to death. This was confirmed by police after a preliminary investigation.
