Kumar Sanjay Krishna, an IAS officer from the 1985 batch (Assam-Meghalaya cadre), has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the Assam. Reportedly, the Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, has approved the appointment of Krishna as the new Chief Secretary.

According to reports, Kumar Sanjay Krishna will take charge as the Chief Secretary at the turn of the year, on December 31. Krishna will replace Alok Kumar, who is set to retire on December 31.
