Assam Superintendent of Police Kumar Sanjit Krishna, who is one of the prime accused in the SI exam paper leak case, has been remanded to five days custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) by a Guwahati court on Friday.

Along with Krishna, Rubul Hazarika and Saroj Sharma were also sent to CID custody for five days. They were produced at the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today.

The recent arrest was Kumar Sanjit Krishna, Superintendent of Police by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was an eye-opener as to the scale of involvement of high level police officials in the scam. Sanjit Krishna is accused of taking Rs. 40 lakh to open the question paper box at his official residence, two days before the exam on 18 September. During that period, Krishna was serving as the Superintendent of Police, Karimganj and was later transferred from Karimganj and was given charge as SP of FRRO, Barpeta.
