The Government Railway Police (GRP) and CRPF, in a joint operation, seized a huge amount of drug from down Rajdhani Express in Guwahati Railway Station on Thursday and apprehended two lady in relation to the case.
The two lady smugglers were carrying 35 packets of drugs worth Rs. 50 lakhs.
The accused women have been identified as Sangita Modak and Soma Paul hailing from Alipurduar in West Bengal.

The duo were moving to Alipurduar with the consignment from Dimapur, Nagaland and it is suspected that the drugs were to be delivered across the border to Bangladesh.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.
As per official reports, there were 34 packets containing 100 tablets each. The Railway Police has apprehended the suspected mastermind behind the incident identified as H. A. Laskar from Bongaigaon railway station.
However, an investigation is underway.
