Lakhimpur Congress Nominee Anil Borgohain’s Nomination Adjourned during Scrutiny

In a major setback for the Indian National Congress, the party's candidate for the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha election Anil Borgohain’s nomination has been adjourned during the Phase-I of the scrutiny process.
Borgohain’s name was among 12 nominees from the Constituency of Lakhimpur, but he is the only candidate whose nomination has been adjourned. His nomination has been adjourned till 5:00 pm on March 27 and as per reports, it will be accepted or rejected after completion of the scrutiny process.
Meanwhile, the nomination of two candidates from Tezpur, Ranvijay Kumar Rai of the Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP) and Krishna Hari Paul of the All India Hindustan Congress Party, has been rejected.
Apart from the three candidates mentioned above, all nominations from Tezpur, Kaliabor, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, and Lakhimpur were accepted.
