Leopard gets stuck in chicken cage in Assam's Sivasagarleopard

SIVASAGAR: A 12-year-old leopard was found trapped in a hen coop in a village in the Sivasagar district of Assam.

The adult leopard was found trapped in a hen coop in the Banfera tea estate area at Sonari in Assam's Sivasagar district on Monday.

The 12-year-old leopard was measuring feet in height and around nine feet in length.

It was found inside the hen coop at around 6 am.

On receiving the information the Range Officer, Sonari and Range Officer, Borhat Range, and forest personnel with intimation to the Divisional Forest Officer, Sivasagar, local police, along with veterinary surgeons rushed to the village to rescue the stuck Leopard.

The forest personnel placed an iron cage in accordance with the hen coop and successfully trapped the leopard in the iron cage.

Later, the trapped leopard was brought to Sonari Range headquarters and was released into the Abhaypur Reserve Forest at around 5 pm.
