Guwahati, December 31, 2018:

2019 is at the doorstep as 2018 will seek goodbye in just a day. Isn’t this the perfect time to review the achievements of the year? And these will surely add more goodies for the succeeding year.

The Government has completed some of the marvellous projects of the nation. This year Assam got India’s longest river-bridge Dhola Sadiya which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Another masterpiece hit the map of Assam when Bogibeel, Asia’s second largest and India’s longest Rail-cum-road bridge stood up.

Further, the 150th Gandhi Jayanti graced the sky with the third tallest tricolor at Gandhi Mandap during 2018 (The first is on Indo-Pakistan border at Attari and second tallest is in Nigdi in Pune). The year even unveiled the world’s tallest 137 feet statue of Chenrezig at Sikkim. Sikkim also got its first airport during 2018.

Amazing Right!? 2018 created hit strokes at the world record lists.

The biggest one was the appointment of Ranjan Gogoi as the Chief Justice of India.

Meanwhile, Adil Hussain won top honours in Norway, by winning the Best Actor award at the Norwegian National Awards.

Then again Rima Das created headlines when Village Rockstars hit the theatres. The film created new history and changed the face of Assamese film industry in the international arena.

This year yet another Das broke records! Guess who?

She is none another than the Dhing Express, Hima Das, the girl who gave a new definition to Assam. Hima Das was selected to pose for the famous magazine 'Femina India' and was also featured on the cover of Vogue.

These were some of the hook points that 2018 showcased. The succeeding year we look forward for more of the same.
