Locals demand justice after Assam girl allegedly gang-raped in Hojai district

Guwahati, April 24, 2019:

In a most reprehensible incident, a girl has allegedly been gang-raped by five men in Digholjaroni under Dabaka Police Station of Hojai district of Assam. The incident occurred a month ago.

The OC of Dabaka Police Station, Nilotpal Bhuyan said, “The incident took place when the victim was on her way to a relative’s house with her brother-in-law. A group of five men attacked them and raped the girl. Also, the accused five men recorded a video of the incident on their mobile phones and made it viral on social media. We have been able to nab three of them, but two are absconding.”

The arrested has been identified as Sahid Ahmed, Gulab Hussain, and Dilwar Hussain. The two who are absconding have been identified as Abdul Motin and Alim Uddin.

The locals have demanded stringent action against all the accused individuals involved in the incident.
