In the latest trend of the vote counts in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 10 seats; Congress party is having a hold in one seat, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) is leading in 2 seats and others 1.
In the Autonomous Council of Assam, BJP candidate H.S. Bey is leading with 1,25,982 votes, in Barpeta, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) candidate, Kumar Deepak Das leading with 3,50,575 votes. In Dhubri, AIUDF candidate, Badruddin Ajmal is leading with 3,70,683votes.
In the Guwahati constituency that has recorded the candidature of 17 candidates, BJP candidate Queen Ojha leads with 2,97,965 votes.
The BJP is also leading in the much debated Tezpur constituency, that expected Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s candidature but eventually switched to BJP candidate Pallab Lochan Das is leading with 2,43,623 votes.
In the Kaliabor constituency, Congress' Gaurav Gogoi is leading with 3,82,204 votes.
In Dibrugarh, BJP candidate, Rameswar Teli is leading with 4,00,769 votes, while Jorhat BJP candidate, Tapan Gogoi leading with 3,86,301 votes. Karimganj’s AIUDF candidate Radheshyam Biswas leading by 2,65,469 votes, UPPL candidate UG Brahma is leading with 2,38,764 votes in Kokrajhar. In Lakhimpur, BJP candidate Pradan Baruah is leading with 5,57,896 votes.
Mangaldoi’s BJP candidate Dilip Saikia leading with 2,79,464 votes, Nagaon’s BJP candidate Rupak Sharma is leading with 3,32,746 votes and Silchar’s BJP candidate Rajdeep Roy is leading with 2,20,475 votes.
It is to be mentioned that out of 25 seats in the North East, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading with 16 seats. Whereas the Congress party has been able to capture only 3 seats, National People's Party (NPP) has grabbed 1 seat and other 5 seats.
