The largest festival of democracy is underway in four Constituencies of Assam (Gauhati, Dhubri, Barpeta, and Kokrajhar) and one in Tripura (East Tripura) as far as the NorthEast is concerned.
Sources have reported the polling percentage from all the five Constituencies of the North-East. They are:
Gauhati: 29.47%
Kokrajhar: 27.2%
Dhubri: 31.54%
Barpeta: 25.86%
Assam: 28.64%
Meanwhile, Tripura East has recorded a turnout of 30% so far.
It may be mentioned that the polling was deferred in Tripura East due to security concerns. Polling was earlier scheduled to be held on 18 April.
The Phase 3 of the 2019 General Election takes place on 23 April 2019 where 115 Lok Sabha constituencies go to polls across 14 states and Union Territories.
Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal will witness voting in some Lok Sabha seats.
All parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa and Daman and Diu will vote on 23 April in a single phase.
