As the fight for the single Lok Sabha seat in the BTC area, the Kokrajhar Constituency seat continues to heat up, the Bodoland Movement groups (including ABSU, NDFB (P), Peoples Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement) on Friday extended support to the UPPL party and its candidates, Urkhao Gwra Brahma and Pradeep Kumar Daimary in Kokrajhar and Mangaldai, respective.

Addressing the press, ABSU President Pramod Bodo appealed the Election Commission to conduct a free and fair election across the country. “The Bodo Movement Group requests the Election Commission (both centre and state) to make all necessary arrangements beforehand that no anti-social and anti-democratic forces can disturb the democratic process and General Election for 17th Lok Sabha of the country by misusing money and muscle power. Further, WE request the concerned body to take strict action towards those who indulge to violence during the election”, he said.
“The Bodo organizations will support UPPL party and it’s already declared candidates in two constituencies i.e. Kokrajhar (ST) Mr. U. G. Brahma and Mangaldoi (Gen) Mr. Pradeep Kr. Daimary for many vital reasons and also request people, in general, to support both candidates and elect them with a maximum margin of votes", he added.
