Lok Sabha Polls | Congress Releases List of Star Campaigners in Assam

Guwahati, March 26, 2019:

The Congress party on Monday released a list of ‘star campaigners’ who will blow the party bugle ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in Assam as the party looks to recapture its fortress in the Northeast from the BJP and its North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) allies.

The Congress bigwigs would be campaigning in the state as per Section 77(1) of Representation of People Act 1951 during the first and second phases in Assam.

As per the list, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, as well as other bigwigs of the party such as Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Priyanka Gandhi, Harish Rawat, will be visiting the state ahead of the elections.

Top regional leaders of the Congress party such as former Chief Ministers Tarun Gogoi, Mukul Sangma, Okram Ibobi Singh will also join the campaign trail.
